Taipa's "King Saloon Racer" Roy "Inchman" Walker pulled out all the stops to win the 2015 Circle Track Racing Association (CTRA) NZ Saloon title for a fourth time on Sunday.

In a field of seven saloons from as faraway as Auckland, Walker managed a second and then two first-placings to take the title.

At the prize-giving, Walker said this might be the last time he races this class competitively.

Nonetheless, it was a great race day in the sun at Taipa Speedway with Taipa Stock & Saloon Car Club holding the CTRA New Zealand Saloons title for 2015, and the "Swifty" Memorial Production Trophy.

The strong field of saloons included Auckland's Phil Mainland, Jesse Low and Tom Roberts, Kaikohe's John Hussey and Nick Caldwell as well as Taipa's Roy Walker and Kyran van Iperen.

Craig DeWaal arrived at Taipa Speedway with a brand new untried Honda Prelude to contest the "Swifty" Production Saloon Trophy.

His jump out into the lead from the very first in the first race was impressive.

He then led for all three races to win the trophy.

Taipa Speedway's next race meeting will be the annual Percy Poharama Memorial on Queen's Birthday weekend, May 30-31. Over the weekend, the Placemakers $1000 Saloon Showdown will be hotly contested and is attracting some of the North Island's best drivers.

The Demolition Teams competition is stacking up to be a big one with the "Dirty Rottens" again coming to take on Bill Duval's Taipa Terrors.
