Anybody who enjoyed Northland's warm, sunny weather yesterday may want to stop reading now as more rain is on the way this week.
MetService duty forecaster Francis Russell said Northlanders could expect cloudy periods today, with light showers mainly in the western parts of Northland, with a high of 16C and an overnight low of 10C.
Tomorrow there would be long fine spells with a couple of showers, a high of 16C and an overnight low of 10C, Ms Russell said.
Cloud is expected to start increasing on Wednesday with showers developing. On Thursday there will also be showers, but temperatures look set to increase slightly, with a high of 18C and an overnight low of 12C, she said.
"Then on Friday the rain becomes heavier and more persistent."
