More people may be arrested as a team of more than 20 detectives continue to investigate a record methamphetamine bust in the Far North.
Multiple inquiries are now underway after almost 500kg of meth was found in a campervan and buried in sand dunes at 90 Mile Beach near Ahipara on Sunday and Monday.
Northland police have handed the investigation over to the Police Organised Crime team, based in Auckland.
National organised crime manager Detective Superintendent Virginia Le Bas this afternoon confirmed that further arrests could be made.
So far, four men have appeared in court in Kaitaia and Manukau charged with importing and possessing methamphetamine.
