Two neighbours are reflecting on a job well done after thieves returned a mounted safety mirror that helped them navigate a dangerous bend outside their home.
Pipiwai Rd residents Rex McQuinn and neighbour Bob Leigh-Mackenzie offered up a $200 reward after the mirror was stolen on May 1.
The mirror had given them at least 200m visibility, which was reduced 50m at the most without it.
They said they were happy for the mirror, which cost them about $900 to install, to be returned no questions asked. The reward and publicity in the Northern Advocate, worked although no one is claiming the money.
"It was leaning against the neighbour's fence on Thursday morning," Mr McQuinn said. "We're rapt and I would like to thank those people."
