A worker has been airlifted to Whangarei Hospital after falling from a roof on to concrete in Kerikeri.
The 49-year-old suffered back injuries after the fall on Kerikeri Inlet Rd, about 11.40am yesterday.
Volunteer firefighters administered oxygen to the injured man until a St John ambulance arrived a few minutes later.
He was put in a neck brace and taken to nearby Kerikeri Domain, where he was picked up by the Northland Electricity rescue helicopter and flown to Whangarei.
It is understood the man was working near the peak of the roof, about 6m above the ground, when he lost his footing. His injuries were described as moderate.
