Repairs to drainage and road surfaces across Northland's state highway network may cause delays for motorists over the next five weeks.
The NZ Transport Agency is starting major repairs to improve road surfaces and drainage on state highways across Northland, with some of the repairs expected to take up to five weeks to carry out.
NZTA Northland Highway Manager Brett Gliddon said the work could cause delays of up to five minutes at each site, so road users are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
Mr Gliddon said the NZTA has planned the works to minimise travel delays.
"Improving drainage protects the road from damage from things such as potholes, slips and erosion which makes travelling on the highway smoother and also reduces the need for ongoing maintenance which is costly and can be disruptive for road users," he said.
