LOG OPERATIONS MANAGER
Our client, a New Zealand-based log export company, is seeking the services of a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to
take up the position to assist and control the company's logging business. The company is a rapidly growing player in the forestry industry
and seeks an individual who is able to source raw material from individual forest owners/investors, partnerships, local authorities, trusts,
government departments and corporate forest owners/managers. The individual should also be able to oversee all aspects of the logging operation,
transporting the logs to the Wharf and supervise all other pre-shipment activities.
Candidates should possess the following experience and attributes:
A tertiary qualification in forestry or forest engineering.
Knowledge of forest harvesting, log scaling , safety practices and log value recovery
Knowledge of harvest planning, road and skid construction
Knowledge of Pine Logs grading rules
Knowledge of domestic and export log markets
Excellent communication skills to liaise and negotiate with subcontractors
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be willing to travel locally to various ports in New Zealand
Candidates should also have the following primary objectives:

To provide competent, timely and cost-effective forest and harvest management services to the company.
To take personal responsibility for own health and safety in the workplace, participate in and comply with company health and safety policies
and procedures. Ensure high standards of health and safety performance by contract suppliers
