This year's Fritter Festival will be on March 10 at Toll Stadium, from 11am to 7pm. It's the sixth edition of the popular festival where local cafes and restaurants battle it out for the Best Fritter Trophy.
Aside from the gourmet fritters, there is a giant water slide to cool off on.
Early bird tickets are available until January 17 for adults and groups, at $39 each or $35 for groups of 10 or more.
Discounted pre-sales start from January 18 and run until March 10, with gate sales available on the day. Tickets on the gate will be $60 for adults and $25 for children.
The bus service is also back again this year, with tickets $20 return. Bus tickets must be purchased with a Fritter Festival ticket.
Three special bus services from Whangarei Heads, Matapouri and Mangawhai will run, arriving between 10.30 and 11am and departing straight after the festival finishes at around 7pm.
Bus tickets can be bought until 4pm, March 6.
Fitter tickets are available from Eventfinda and the Forum North box office.
Several thousand people flocked to enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of last year's festival which featured 25 different flavours of fritters to choose from.
The festival contributes significantly to the local economy; with estimations last year that each festival goer contributed $198 to the local economy.
Whangarei District Council spent $115,000 at local businesses by running the event, with a total economic benefit at $1,162,810.
