Two of Northland's best young talents are set to shine in the SG Ball Grand Final between the Penrith Panthers and the Sydney Roosters tomorrow.
James Dean Fisher-Harris, from Kohukohu, and Hamish Pomare, from Kaitaia, will feature for the Panthers going into the SG Ball final - the competition one tier below the Holden Cup under-20 championship that is a platform towards NRL stardom.
Last Saturday, the Panthers beat the Parramatta Eels 28-4 in the semis, both Northlanders starting against an Eels side featuring another talented Northland expat Kadince Christensen.
It is the first year for Fisher-Harris, who used to play for Marist and Whangarei Boys' High School, and Pomare, of Muriwhenua and Kaitaia College, in the Australian system after impressing for the Northern Swords 17s last year.
Both have been instrumental for the Panthers this season, helping the side secure the SG Ball minor premiership title and scoring tries throughout the round-robin and knockout stages.
