A boat drifting at seas for days off the Kaipara Harbour has finally reached port with all three crew.
The crippled 12-metre ketch Cheval de Mer was towed into Helensville about 1.15pm today.
A charter boat Clancy was used to help the ketch after its motor failed and sails were destroyed in high seas.
Rescue Co-ordination Centre spokesman Ross Henderson said activation of the yacht's emergency beacon on Monday morning showed the ketch was 30 nautical miles (55.5km) northwest of the Kaipara Harbour mouth and 20 nautical miles (37km) from land.
The tanker Kakariki was diverted to find the yacht and got within 90metres last night.
