The preliminary results of the referendum are through and the development of the building for the Hundertwasser Wairau Maori Art Centre has won by a landslide, with a whopping 13,726 votes.
Vote for the old Harbour Board building at the Town Basin to be demolished totalled 7,876, while Harbourside was the least favoured option with just 5,478.
Voting closed at 12pm today and ballot boxes from Forum North and Ruakaka are now on their way to Auckland for a final count, which will be announced at around 5pm today.
