Kamo Intermediate School student, Johnny Wilson (left), got a bit of a workout on Friday as part of a team that combined ran an entire marathon.
It was all for a good cause as it was Save the Children's Race for Survival, a worldwide relay event.
The fastest time recorded by the school's two teams was 2h 16m 32s - about 14 minutes slower than the world record. Kamo Intermediate School was the only school registered for the event in New Zealand but teams from over 60 countries were involved.
The idea of the event, ran by 45 students, was to highlight the plight of the world's most vulnerable children, teacher Brad Kini said.
"It was really just about being generous with our time and making people aware," Mr Kini said.
