Visitors are expected to flock to Kaikohe on Saturday for the 91st edition of the Kaikohe Agricultural and Pastoral Show.
If the kids are getting restless as the end of the school holidays near, the show hosts a range of competitions for various age groups, including baking, floral artistry and many hobbies.
Entry for these competitions closes at noon on Friday, with the show held at the Kaikohe Showgrounds on the corner of State Highway 12 and Ngawha Springs Rd.
There will also be scarecrow making and garden in a wheel barrow competitions for students and adults. Country kids will also be taking along their pet calf or lamb, with those competitions beginning at 10am on show day.
With Top Energy increasing their power production to cover the whole of the Top North, the company is sponsoring bus trips leaving within the Showgrounds and journeying to their Ngawha Geothermal Power Station site.
