Police are asking the public to be on the watch for jewellery offered on the cheap following the armed robbery at Dargaville Warehouse.
Also taken during the robbery on Sunday night was a ''significant quantity'' of cash, both in notes and coins, Detective Shawn House from Dargaville Police said.
It is highly likely the offenders will be looking to on-sell stolen jewellery items, he said.
Mr House is also asking people to be aware of anyone who may have large quantities of coins or notes that may seem out of the ordinary, and contact police immediately.
The police are not saying at this stage what weapons were used, or confirming the talk in the public arena that night staff restocking shelves were locked in a bathroom after the two armed men entered the building around 11pm on Sunday.
