The crowd keeps swelling every year and yesterday's Anzac Day dawn ceremony in Whangarei attracted more than 7500 young and old.
Yesterday they braved a chilly but pleasant morning to say, "We will remember them" as wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph at Laurie Hall Park and the national anthems of New Zealand and Australia played.
