More than 200 riders took to the track for the first round of 2019 Northland motocross championships at the Dargaville MX & ATV club track on Sunday.
Now into it's fifth year, the competition has quickly morphed from a small collection of local riders into a full blown series with classes ranging from mini novice to MX open with all riders of any age catered for.

The series is raced over events at each of the four Northland clubs: Whangārei MCC, Maungaturoto MCC, Dargaville MCC and Rodney MCC.
Each club has its own style of track, with Dargaville's sand-based track, Whangārei and Maungaturoto's clay tracks and Rodney's natural terrain paddock track.
