Showers are expected throughout Northland this week but will not be as heavy as those that thundered across the region on Sunday evening.
Rainfall figures from the Northland Regional Council showed Glenbervie Forest topped the list of rain that fell throughout the region in 24 hours from midday Sunday to 12pm yesterday.
Glenbervie Forest received 24.5mm of rain over that 24-hour period as well as the highest per hour recorded in any area at 16mm which fell between 5pm and 6pm on Sunday.
Whakapara received 22.5mm, Whangarei Harbour at Marsden Pt 22mm, Twin Bridges at Mangakahia 19.5mm, Maungaturoto 19mm, Touwai 18mm, Ohaeawai 17.5mm, and Water St in central Whangarei 17mm.
Other areas throughout the region received less than 15mm.
