The Far North appears to have escaped serious damage during the weekend's heavy rain.
Unlike the storms that hit during winter, triggering hundreds of slips and causing millions of dollars worth of damage, Saturday night's deluge caused only a few minor slips.
None were serious enough to force road closures, a council spokesman said.
Some of the worst flooding was at Herekino, on the west coast south of Ahipara, where floodwaters scoured away a bridge embankment.
Contractors were assessing the bridge yesterday to determine whether repairs would be needed.
