To Mr Key: You have continued to exclude us from knowing the details of the TPPA.
You continue to assure us that signing the TPPA will not affect us regarding issues such as Pharmac retaining its current structure and being able to continue to buy on the world market, NZ retaining its GE-free status, and NZ retaining its ability to place legislative restrictions on the marketing of tobacco products.
Therefore we presume that you and your National Party MPs accept liability for any litigation from any corporation which may decide to sue for compensation on any sovereign issue.
To the co-signatories of the TPPA: We, the people of New Zealand, have been excluded from knowing the details of the TPPA. Therefore we give notice that we do not accept responsibility for anything in that agreement that attempts to override our sovereign rights to govern our own nation.
We are currently a democracy and have the right to make decisions on issues such as being GE free, have Pharmac buy on the world market, and impose restrictions on the sale of tobacco products.
We emphatically state that no corporation has the right to sue us on any sovereign issue.
