A while ago on TV, the story was being told of a factory that built catalytic converters for diesel-powered vehicles, thus making the exhaust more friendly to the environment.
At first, a person had a genuine green feeling of what can be manufactured.
Then they showed a few hundred acres of dead trees around the factory, caused by the pollution that caused poison rain that had been emitted from the factory.
I guess it comes down to the equation of x plus y equals z.
Sure some trees died but the converters are friendly on the environment. Makes you think, eh?
