A reader suggests making the walkway loop a star path.

A reader suggests making the walkway loop a star path.

Here is an idea for the walkway loop: a Starpath. Look it up on the internet, it's a substance that can be sprayed on. It absorbs ultraviolet light during the day and releases it at night in the form of a glowing surface. Marvellous stuff.

Also while we are not on the subject, Northpower - what is it worth: $200 million, $300 million? Sell 49 per cent, use the money to pay off council debt.

We still retain control. And then pass a bylaw to put a cap on future debt levels. This would help keep rates stable.

Trust Power in Tauranga have done it already and I understand Trust Power sold over 50 per cent. They are still going strong.
