A bore erupted on a Rotorua street.

A bore erupted on a Rotorua street.

There was a story on television the other night of a new geyser opening up in Rotorua. It reminded me of a story I heard through the media a while ago about the number of illegal bores operating in Rotorua being so extreme that one of the natural tourist attractions, the geyser, wasn't occurring.

It was a no-brainer when you think about it. Why should Joe public pay for heating when they could tap into a thermal heat source for free?

I believe the story went that the public had to cap their siphoning or it could well be to the detriment of tourism.

I write this letter to inform people when you respect Mother Nature she will display her wonders.

I wonder if the same could apply to global warming? Just food for thought.
