Has the flag referendum already been decided by President Key? New Zealand produce is now being marketed around the world with our "new flag", the silver fern and Southern Cross on a blue background with a red corner replacing the Union Jack. This has shown up in Korea, Japan and recently on NZ apples in China, Did that just happen?
As this design is the closest to our traditional flag and will most likely be the preferred option, what are the odds the Mr Key will decide that, as it is the most popular choice, there will be no need for a second referendum, which would be a waste of taxpayers money, and declare the result as the popular choice?
Forget about tradition and honour for the flag we have fought and lived under for the past 110 years. Anyone want to bet on it?
