Northland fans of the Corvette will be in Chevy heaven next month when around 100 of the vehicles visit the Bay of Islands from February 19-21.
There will be approximately 100 Corvettes available at the show and shine on February 20, with a gold coin donation for the St John Ambulance as an entry fee, at the Copthorne Hotel from 10am to 3pm.
The Chevrolet Corvette, known colloquially as the Vette, has been produced through seven generations. The first model, a convertible, was introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette.
The seventh generation-C7 was first released in 2014.
