Tikipunga player Jamie Burgess and FC Whangarei's Tee J Dunbar go head to head for this ball in Saturday's Stafford Choat semifinal in Tikipunga.

Tikipunga player Jamie Burgess and FC Whangarei's Tee J Dunbar go head to head for this ball in Saturday's Stafford Choat semifinal in Tikipunga.

A strengthened Kamo side couldn't manage to stop Kerikeri's flow in their Stafford Choat semifinal, with Kerikeri winning 4-2 on penalties in Kamo.

Boosted by the inclusion of Keegan Baddeley and Steve Schimmel, albeit not at full fitness, was not enough to see Kamo over the line and into the Stafford Choat final at Toll Stadium this weekend.

Kerikeri's win over the defending champions on Saturday is made even sweeter as three other of their club teams have made the finals of the knockout cup competition.

Their premier team will contest the Stafford Choat cup final while the reserves will play in the plate final, before Kerikeri High School and Kerikeri Sitework will contest the women's cup and plate finals respectively.

Helping Kerikeri's premier team on their way to victory on Saturday was their masters team, who defaulted their inter-club quarter-final clash last weekend so the top team could be well-rested ahead of the semifinal.

Meanwhile, meeting Kerikeri in the cup final will be FC Whangarei who beat last year's other finalist - Tikipunga.

In the same heavy rain that affected Kamo's semifinal, FC Whangarei won out 3-1.
