"It was such a good performance from the boys and it was good to have our North Force boys back for the last couple of games. Our young players have just carried us this year, it's been a pleasure playing with these young boys, getting them through the ranks and watching them become senior players."
With goals to Keegan Baddeley and Sam Walker, Kamo remained composed and managed to starve Tikipunga of possession.
Striking the ball a few yards shy of the goal on several occasions, it just wasn't Tikipunga's day.
Scoring a goal in the last few minutes, Tikipunga found another gear to lift their cause.
Despite this, the damage had been done far earlier in the piece and they failed to hustle an equaliser as the clock wound down.
Also securing a win at the weekend, Kamo's women's side held off a young, exuberant Kerikeri High School team to win the Northland Women's Knockout Cup, 2-0.
Leading 1-0 at halftime, Kamo managed to steer clear of any threats from Kerikeri and gradually wore the younger side down. Keeping the high school team scoreless at full time, Kamo coach Hans Schimmel was complimentary of his girls' winning performance, which came via the boots of Sandy Burleigh and Hannah Mortimer.
"We are pretty happy. They're a good side, Kerikeri, and it's good to beat them," Schimmel said.
"We had a goalkeeper back that's been injured for most of the year so that made a big difference for us. We won the league and lost one game all year, so this just caps it off."
In the Women's Knockout Plate final, Hora Hora shut out Onerahi to win 3-1.
The remaining Stafford Choat games saw Northern Wairoa secure a 3-2 win over Tikipunga Development in the nick of time to take home the Plate.
With both teams level at 2-all inside the final minutes, Northern Wairoa scored their third goal via a penalty in the dying seconds to prevent the game spilling into extra time.
In the Stafford Choat Bowl final, FC Whangarei beat the Kerikeri Pioneers in a 9-0 drubbing.
