Bay of Islands rider Emma Broughton-Watts produced back-to-back faultless runs in the cross-country and showjumping to win the Wade Equine Coaches CNC105 at the Taupo National Three-Day Eventing Championships.
Riding Lochinvar II, Broughton-Watts had a successful event leading into the win - sitting third after the dressage phase, before a clear cross-country saw her move into first.
With no room for error in the showjumping two weekends ago, she produced a second faultless round on her way to the win.
Young Whangarei rider Ocean McKinnon, riding the Kaitaia-bred Graffiti MH, came second in the young horse event and also won the award for best mare against a tough competition.
