Entries are pouring in for a competition which will give one person the chance to perform with New Zealand singer Aaradhna.
The Ngapuhi Festival, being held in Whangarei next year, has launched a singing competition called Iwi Idol- where young singers can record and submit a video of themselves to win a chance to perform with Aaradhna at the event.
Entries have almost doubled in a week with 30 applications in as of yesterdaycompared to 16 on Tuesday last week.
It is the first time the New Zealand R&B and soul artist has been involved with a competition like this, organisers said.
To enter, people living in New Zealand, who must be aged 25 or younger, can submit a one-minute video of themselves performing their favourite song. Duets and trios will also be accepted.
