Former Whangarei school principal, city councillor and theologian George Bryant will launch his latest book at Kamo on Saturday.
Mr Bryant's 17th book, Making a Real Difference: Christian Movers and Shakers, explores how the people he writes about are motivated by their faith to act on the principle of "love your neighbour".
Whangarei doctors Cheryl and Malcolm Bollen are profiled in the book with national figures who include a judge, scientist, social worker, journalist, local government representative, educationist, racing driver, businessman, youth worker, prison reformer, city missioner and navy commander.
Mr Bryant writes about how, through their work, they are making a difference.
He was principal of Whangarei Girls' High School for 15 years (1980-94). The Whangarei launch of Making a Real Difference: Christian Movers and Shakers is at St John's Church, Kamo Rd, at 1.30pm.
