Russell residents are being warned to prepare for power outages tomorrow as a result of a car crash on November 25.
Last week's crash on the outskirts of Russell left the driver unharmed but the same could not be said of a roadside transformer providing the town's power.
The transformer has continued to limp on, despite the damage, but will be replaced by Top Energy staff starting at 8am tomorrow.
The company expects power will be cut three times, with outages ranging from 10 to 90 minutes, between 8.30am and 8pm. A generator has been installed at Matauwhi Bay so power won't be out all day.
The affected areas will be Orongo Bay, Uruti Bay Matauwhi Bay, Russell township, Tapeka Pt, Long Beach and Russell Peninsula from Okiato to Taupiri Bay.
