Twelve Northland College students and eight family members (right) went to Lincoln University's Telford campus near Balclutha for a "Taster Camp" recently.
Taster Camps provide an opportunity for prospective students to experience the Telford campus first hand, with four days of hands-on tasks and learning new skills.
With the 47 students attending were 12 students plus eight whanau from Northland College. In 2014, Lincoln University and Northland College signed a Five-Year Strategic Plan, to formalise a plan for optimising the farming and educational opportunities from the neighbouring Northland College Farm.
Northland College, which opened in 1947, has its own farm and plantation forest, making it a training ground for teens seeking careers in agriculture and forestry.
