Northland's own bachelorette says it was strange being in the Bay of Islands for The Bachelor New Zealand and not being able to tell family she was so close to home.
The Bay of Islands is the latest date destination for the reality TV programme. Last night was the last episode in Queensland and tonight the show will feature dates in the Bay of Islands as well as a rose ceremony at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
Kerikeri woman Gabrielle Davenport is one of six women who will be hoping to receive a rose at tonight's ceremony at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.
The 29-year-old said it was strange being so close to home but not being able to tell her family she was nearby.
"It was very weird being in such familiar surroundings and being so close to family but not tell them that I was there. When we were out and about I definitely saw some familiar faces passing by which is what I love about being from the North," she said.
