An 11-year-old child has been critically hurt after being struck by a vehicle at Te Paki stream in the Far North.
Police were called to the scene on Te Paki Stream Rd about 1.20pm today.
The Northland Rescue Helicopter and an ambulance were both on the way to the scene and a serious crash investigator had been called.
Police said the road would stay closed until the child had been taken to hospital and the Serious Crash Unit had examined the scene.
