Classic cars and chrome-covered motorcycles united for a good cause on Saturday - to raise money and awareness of suicide in Northland.
Dozens of shiny bikes and glistening cars flocked to Tikipunga Tavern on Saturday for a Show'n'Shine event which was a chance to show off bikes and cars while also raising funds for Riders Against Teen Suicide (RATS) who promote the suicide awareness campaign Green Ribbon, said event manager Katrina Tepania.
"I had the idea of holding a bike and cars show and had been talking to Hard n Fast Northland, but I wanted to attach a cause to it. One of the members of Hard n Fast also rides with RATS and suicide is on the rise so we thought it would be a good chance to raise money for them," she said.
The event featured cars and bikes from Hard n Fast Northland, Native Sons Tai Tokerau, Chosen Few, Tumeke MC and Street Kings with plenty of stalls and entertainment for children.
