The Mangawhai Classic Women's Fours were held recently and it is congratulations to the club on an excellent well-run event.
The winners on the day were a team from the Mangawhai Club (must have been the local knowledge of the greens!). The team was made up of Sue Wightman (S), Carol Stebben, Diane Robinson, Jan Hollingsworth, and they won the two-day tournament with a total of 15 win points, 58 ends, 117 points.
Second place went to a composite team of Diane Strawbridge, Gwen Lawson, Eva Khrol and Karina Cooper with 14 win points, 64 ends and 130 points.
Third, fourth, fifth and sixth prizes were also awarded to teams skipped by Colleen Griffiths, Melva Stobie, Jude Ganley and Alison Rennie.
Thirty-two teams took part and the event was well sponsored by local business firms.
