Northland audiences will get in the mood when the Glenn Miller Orchestra brings its spectacular concert to the region during a 22-venue national tour.
The sentimental journey down music's memory lane has a programme designed to honour the year of the Anzac centenary.
Featuring some of the USA's finest musicians, together with the Moonlight Serenade Singers and the Broadway Swing Dancers, In the Spirit of Anzac will also feature the best music and songs from the years of the Great War.
But it's likely to be the music hits from the Glenn Miller classics song-book that will most swing the audience - timeless numbers such as Chattanooga Choo Choo, A String of Pearls, Tuxedo Junction, Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug and the greatest Miller hit of all time, In The Mood.
"The Glenn Miller Orchestra is a colourful and flamboyant evening filled with fun and nostalgia of the 30s and 40s. Our unique jazz sound is sought all around the world and, in addition to recreating the golden era of swing, we bring to life the colour, costumes and spirit," said Rick Gerber, musical director. "Having travelled across the globe, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is delighted to be bringing tunes such as In The Mood and Moonlight Serenade back to New Zealand."
