Two more people have been arrested in relation to a vicious robbery in which the victim of the alleged bag-snatch was dragged behind a car.
Police say a 32-year-old woman was leaving a bar on Paihia's Kings Rd just before midnight on Sunday when she was accosted by a man and two women.
The trio allegedly knocked the woman to the ground, kicked her and took her handbag.
As they got into a car, the woman either grabbed the vehicle or became caught, and was dragged along the road.
She suffered cuts, grazes and bruising to her legs and arms but did not require hospital treatment.
A spokesman for Paihia police said a 21-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning, with two women, aged 18 and 19, arrested later that day.
All three were charged with aggravated robbery, he said.
The man also faced charges of assault on a female, wilful damage and behaving in a threatening manner from an unrelated incident. Police were continuing to interview witnesses yesterday.
Levi Moses King, 21, of Paihia, appeared in the Kaikohe District Court on Monday charged with aggravated robbery. Appearing yesterday on the same charge were Raven Priscilla Renata, 19, waitress, of Paihia, and Cheyenne Marie Orchard, 18, unemployed, of Paihia.
