More than 300 people danced the night away at a Christmas party and variety show organised by the Whangarei Filipino Society at Forum North.
The event, on Saturday evening, began with the national anthems of the Philippines and New Zealand before former Whangarei mayor Morris Cutforth opened the event with a short speech.
What followed put the strong crowd on the edge of their seats. The society's choir group performed a Christmas carolling dance and a belly dance was also carried out. Dinner and desserts were served prior to the performances.
