James Blunt obviously has his fans - he has sold 15 million albums.
And the lead single and opening track off his third album - Stay the Night - is a nice, summery tune with a catchy chorus and lyrics that reference Billie Jean and Bob Marley's Is This Love and include plenty of woah, oh-oh-ohs and yeahs.
But James, you've spoilt a perfectly good album opening with a dog of a second track.
The name Michael Sembello may not mean much to you but those of a certain age will remember his song Maniac, from the film Flashdance.
And remember it you will when you hear the similar Dangerous, which not only sounds terrible but has preposterously silly lyrics: "She is dangerous, she is dangerous, I'm sure (woah)/And she's all dressed up and knocking at my door (woah)."
That aside, there are some likeable tracks further into the album, including the emotion-infused Best Laid Plans.
However, on the whole, it is what it says on the tin - to be blunt, another word for Blunt is dull.
