Thomas and Friends - Misty Island Rescue
(G) Roadshow Entertainment
For more than 50 years, generations of children have been enthralled by the adventures of the loveable blue train from the island of Sodor - Thomas the Tank Engine.
Thomas' friendly demeanour and helpful heroism has made him a friend of many and the most popular train around.
Celebrating 65 years of Thomas the Tank Engine, Misty Island Rescue is the fifth movie-length version of a Thomas adventure and is sure to keep the young ones well and truly occupied.
Thomas is into the action early when he heroically saves Diesel from certain destruction after he leaves himself dangling over a cliff.
The Fat (or should that be the dietary challenged) Controller is full of praise for Thomas and rewards him with a visit to the mainland to visit its rescue centre.
That journey doesn't go as planned and Thomas finds himself abandoned and stranded on the mysterious Misty Island.
Spooked and scared, Thomas looks for escape but must find help from island's rustic trains - Dash, Bash and Ferdinand.
A mysterious tunnel seems their only hope. It links Sodor and Misty Island but no one knows if the tunnel is still intact.
Tackling the tunnel bravely, Thomas, Dash, Bash and Ferdinand become trapped and their only hope is if their smoke signal can be seen from Sodor and help comes.
Thomas must keep his cool and continue to make good decisions if he wants to survive this adventure.
In this day and age, parents can do a lot worse than introduce a youngster to the good moral compass that Thomas the Tank Engine offers.
