Use a good lipliner. Find one that matches your lipstick or the natural colour of your lips. Line your lips (on the lip, not around the outside) and smudge the liner a bit before colouring in your lips with lipstick.
Put foundation on your lips, dust some sheer powder over the top and blot with tissues before you apply your lipstick.
Stay away from really creamy or glossy lipsticks. If you like the shiny look, use a colour-stay lipstick and finish with a clear gloss.
Try wearing a small amount of lip balm under your lipstick.
Get a lip "plumper" product to smooth out the fine lines around your mouth to stop lipstick having anywhere to bleed to.
Use a make-up brush to apply lipstick rather than putting it on directly from the tube.
My pick: L'Oreal Infallible Lip Color - stays on even through teeth-brushing but is not as drying as some super-stay varieties.
