If you don't know what dubstep is, perhaps you should turn on a radio station that plays new music, because it's everywhere right now.
The music originated in London, and features deep bass lines, clipped samples, and occasional vocals. Many mainstream musicians, such as Rihanna, Beyonce, Kesha and Britney Spears, are infusing dubstep into their music.
If you are a fan of these artists and have noticed a slight change in their sound of late, I'd recommend spending some time listening to songs that are proper dubstep.
The Ministry of Sound have released The Sound of Dubstep, and this is a good place to start if you want to learn more about the genre.
The Sound of Dubstep is a two-disc, 53-track album featuring plenty of dubstep anthems, mixed by Borgore and Will Styles.
It features tracks by artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Basement Jaxx, Audio Bullys, The Prodigy and Joy Orbison.
Simply put, the album is pretty awesome, and I had a really good time listening to it. Before I knew it, the album was finished.
But if you are new to dubstep, I will give you a warning. The lyrics can sometimes be a little explicit, so perhaps listen to it without young ears around.
