On The Road Again - Katchafire
4/5
It has been three years since Katchafire last released a new album and fans will be stoked to hear they are back with something new to offer.
Their latest album, On The Road Again, is finally out and although Katchafire have charged things up a bit they are still providing feelgood, roots reggae music.
You hear more from other band members in this album as there's greater input from them in the writing and vocals.
The title track On The Road Again pays tribute to many of the places they visited over the years and the support they received in those places.
There are 12 tracks on this album and although we still hear Katchafire's signature sounds we're also treated to something new as the band makes use of the latest technology. Roots reggae is a big part of this album but it also features upbeat reggae pop, dub, R&B and even a bit of electronica with the use of vocoders.
As always, Katchafire gives us some great tracks for the summer and I'm sure I'll be hearing it blasting at barbecues, beaches and lakes on stunning sunny days over the next few months.
The album cover also features the lyrics of the songs so you'll be able to sing along, too.
