Have I started listening to Madonna or a church playlist? These are two questions I asked myself when I pushed play on Lady Gaga's latest album Born This Way.
Don't get me wrong, there isn't anything wrong with either types of music but the Gaga album definitely has an 80s Madonna-like sound to it and the Jesus theme is a strong part of it too.
I've listened to this album, which includes a second disc of remixes, over and over and would describe it as very electronic-pop with a bit of disco, techno, heavy dance beats and plenty catchy hooks. But, I don't feel there are a lot of songs on here that will have the same impact as her previous hits such as Poker Face, Bad Romance or Just Dance have had.
I am a big Lady Gaga fan but would definitely say her previous albums are far better than the latest.
However, if you're after a loud, beat pumping album then this will do it for you. I've listened to this album while working out at the gym a few times and it does the trick without a doubt - it keeps you energised to keep going and going.
