BNZ Northland held a golf tournament and raised a whooping $17 000 for Project Promise.

The four-person Ambrose team event was held at the Bay of Islands Golf Club Kerikeri with twenty teams taking part.

BNZ branch manager for Kerikeri and Paihia BNZ Malcolm Shepherd said the day was a great success.

"It was fantastic to raise $17,000, after raising $3000 last year," he said.

There was an auction with some big ticket items to go towards the fundraising, which tipped the tables over their target amount of $10,000.

First prize for the winning team went to PKF Poutsma Lemon accounting firm, followed by EDI Electrical & Whitelaw Weber.

The winners will have naming rights on one of the bricks to be used in the building of the oncology unit that will be set up with funds from Project Promise.
