The annual concert at Hawkes Bay's Mission Estate vineyard has an act of a certain vintage confirmed for 2003.
Sir Cliff Richard will headline the event on Saturday, February 22, with his only other New Zealand show at Christchurch's WestpacTrust Centre on Tuesday, February 18.
The pop peer, who turns 62 next month, last toured here four years ago on his 40th-anniversary concert tour. Past acts at the vineyard have included the Hollies, Lulu, the Beach Boys and Ray Charles.
The 23,000 tickets for the Mission Estate show ($80 general admission, $120 VIP, and $38 for children) go on sale on Monday through Ticketek.
And in other concert news, a major American rock act has been added to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' New Zealand tour.
Papa Roach, the Californian band identified with the nu-metal movement, will be one of the support acts for the Chili Peppers at their two outdoor shows at Auckland's Western Springs on Sunday, November 22, and at Christchurch's QEII Stadium two nights before.
The outfit released their second album, Lovehatetragedy, in July, a follow-up to their debut, Infest, which sold 3 million copies.
A review by the Herald concluded that the latest recording was "a satisfying album of Angry American Rock" which made Papa Roach "a smarter band than they first looked". Also on the bill will be Australian unknowns Quirk and a New Zealand act still to be decided.
Meanwhile, Rotorua's first major hip-hop concert, featuring American rapper Krayzie Bone, has finally been confirmed for Friday, October 18.
The artist, also known as Anthony Henderson, is a member of the group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, which has sold more than 10 million albums. He will play at Paradise Valley, accompanied by five emerging American rappers who feature on his latest album, Thug on da Line.
