Comedians at this year's International Laugh! Festival tell us what makes them ticklish.
Introducing ... John Glass.
Name of show: The Sound of Glass.
Being a comedian - the job you've always wanted or an escape from a proper one? Discuss with examples of previous work:
Hell, I thought it was a real job. I had some work experience on an ant farm once but I got off on the wrong foot, killed my homestay family on the first day, all billion of them.
Your major point of difference from all the other acts at this year's festival?
a) room service b) fuzzy ears c) good posture - you choose.
Your urge to get up on stage and make people laugh is more the result of a) psychological imbalance or b) towering confidence?
c) the rent. Having-to-pay-rent syndrome or rent-arrhoea affects a wide number of comedians. A chronic condition that usually surfaces once a week and can only be alleviated by the haemorrhaging of money.
Who or what always makes you laugh?
The tickling of a little spot just behind my knee.
And when you do, do you snigger, chuckle, giggle, guffaw?
I like to titter.
The funniest word in the English language is:
Cockamamy.
Is comedy still the new rock'n'roll?
Feng shui is the new rock'n'roll. Comedy is the new Morris dancing.
*The Sound of Glass is at Manifesto nightly until Saturday, 7 pm.
