All star, 15-track tribute to Sun Records' 50th anniversary, the studio behind early Elvis, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more.
So, here Paul McCartney lines up for a disappointingly bloodless That's All Right, Jeff Beck supports Chrissie Hynde on her echoed and hiccupping Mystery Train, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant enjoy themselves on My Bucket's Got a Hole In It, and perennial French rocker Johnny Hallyday does an effective Blue Suede Shoes. Younger folk are represented by Matchbox Twenty, LIVE (I Walk the Line) and the Howling Diablos with Kid Rock on Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee.
Interesting, but more fun for the artists than the audience, which is better-served by one of the many, often budget-price, collections of the originals.
