This double CD compilation acts as a 10th anniversary offering to Australian punters of the day-long funk festival and an intro to us on this side of the ditch who are getting our first VOASD at
Western Springs on Waitangi Day.
It's a cohesive, but not beat-mixed,
collection of 90s grooves, including many a memorable dancepop anthem (Dee Lite's Groove Is In The Heart, Moloko's Sing It Back, Stereo MCs' Connected and Groove Armada's Superstylin' among them). Elsewhere, there's many a dancefloor offering big on jazzy touches (vibes player Roy Ayers features on two tracks), rampant congas and breezy beats. A collection of sunny disposition.
Bottle of block recommended.
