Crowe 'appalled' by reports he will play Croc-Hunter

Film star Russell Crowe has denied reports he is to play Steve Irwin in a film based on the life of the late Crocodile Hunter.

Crowe told television show Extra he was 'appalled' at the idea of playing Irwin.

"It's appalling to me," Crowe said.

"(It) offends me very deeply, so awful that I have to deal with millions of people thinking I would dance on my friend's grave."

Industry magazine, In Touch Weekly earlier said Crowe was in talks with Universal Studios about making a biopic.
